Start Here

Start with four Edward.Newgate identities across early booster, starter, and later-set paths.

Edward.Newgate (OP02-004)
OP02-004SuperRareOP-02

OP02-004 is a SuperRare Edward.Newgate Character from OP-02, PARAMOUNT WAR, shown aboard ship with his naginata. It opens the route with the foundational Whitebeard family used again for comparison.

Edward.Newgate (OP08-043)
OP08-043SuperRareOP-08

OP08-043 is a SuperRare Edward.Newgate Character from OP-08, TWO LEGENDS, with a battle-worn stance. It adds a separate later base identity rather than another OP02-004 printing.

Edward.Newgate (ST15-002)
ST15-002SuperRareST-15

ST15-002 is a SuperRare Edward.Newgate Character from the ST-15 Red Edward.Newgate starter deck. Its downward strike introduces the starter-product path before that base family returns in Chase.

Edward.Newgate (OP13-042)
OP13-042SuperRareOP-13

OP13-042 is a SuperRare Edward.Newgate Character from OP-13, CARRYING ON HIS WILL, with a glass-and-shard composition. It establishes the later family whose Special printing appears in Chase.

Reading a Whitebeard Card

Use OP02-004 to separate base identity, artwork, catalog rarity, and reprint product.

Reference
OP02-004SuperRareOP-02

Shown again as the base visual reference for the OP02-004 comparison family. It shares state with the counted Section 1 entry and does not count twice.

Edward.Newgate (OP02-004_p1)
OP02-004_p1SuperRareOP-02

OP02-004_p1 keeps the OP02-004 base identity and SuperRare rarity while visual review shows a front-facing close portrait. It separates artwork from base card and rarity.

Edward.Newgate (OP02-004_p4)
OP02-004_p4SuperRarePRB-01

OP02-004_p4 remains OP02-004 and SuperRare but moves through PRB-01 with a dynamic ship-and-naginata composition. It makes product path and artwork readable as separate facts.

03

Moments

A named technique, the Moby Dick, and one directly depicted event show three kinds of Whitebeard relevance.

Seaquake (OP02-021)
OP02-021RareOP-02

OP02-021 is the Rare Event Seaquake from OP-02 with Whitebeard Pirates catalog context. The reviewed image shows the destructive wave rather than Whitebeard, so the route presents it honestly as a named-technique card.

Moby Dick (OP02-024)
OP02-024CommonOP-02

OP02-024 is the Common Moby Dick Stage from OP-02. Its effect text explicitly names [Edward.Newgate], while the image shows the ship, making this a direct catalog-text relationship rather than a character depiction.

I Am Whitebeard!! (ST22-015)
ST22-015CommonST-22

ST22-015 is the Common Event I Am Whitebeard!! from ST-22. Its text plays [Edward.Newgate], and the reviewed image visibly shows Whitebeard in battle, joining direct text and direct presence.

04

Chase Cards

Three Special printings and two distinct SuperRare alternates create five collector lessons.

Edward.Newgate (OP02-004_p2)
OP02-004_p2SpecialOP-04

OP02-004_p2 is a Special Edward.Newgate printing from OP-04 with a painted close portrait. It gives the foundational family a Chase position through catalog rarity and visibly different artwork.

Edward.Newgate (OP13-042_p2)
OP13-042_p2SpecialOP15-EB04

OP13-042_p2 is a Special Edward.Newgate printing from the OP15-EB04 product path with an ornate blue-and-gold composition. It is selected over p1 because it adds both a distinct product path and catalogued Special rarity.

Edward.Newgate (ST15-002_p1)
ST15-002_p1SpecialOP-10

ST15-002_p1 is a Special Edward.Newgate printing from OP-10 with a celebratory crew portrait. It shows how a starter-deck base identity can move into a separate booster and collector presentation.

Edward.Newgate (OP08-043_p1)
OP08-043_p1SuperRareOP-08

OP08-043_p1 remains SuperRare but replaces the base card’s stance with a lightning-and-punch action composition. It adds a clear artwork lesson without inventing a treatment term.

Edward.Newgate (OP16-003_p1)
OP16-003_p1SuperRareOP-16

OP16-003_p1 is a SuperRare Edward.Newgate printing from OP-16 with a back-facing coat-and-flag composition. It closes Chase with a separate base identity and a quieter symbolic image.

05

Bridge to Play

optional

Three presentations of one Edward.Newgate Leader identity meet one support card with explicit Leader dependency.

Edward.Newgate (OP02-001)
OP02-001LeaderOP-02

OP02-001 is the Edward.Newgate Leader from OP-02 and establishes the single gameplay identity represented by the next two printings.

Edward.Newgate (OP02-001_p1)
OP02-001_p1LeaderOP-02

OP02-001_p1 carries the same OP02-001 Leader identity and effect with a close-face composition. Its lesson is collector presentation, not a different deck strategy.

Edward.Newgate (OP02-001_p2)
OP02-001_p2LeaderST-15

OP02-001_p2 carries the same OP02-001 Leader identity and effect through the ST-15 starter product with separate action artwork. It adds product choice without overstating gameplay difference.

Atmos (ST15-001)
ST15-001CommonST-15

ST15-001 is the Common Atmos Character from ST-15. Its effect explicitly depends on an [Edward.Newgate] Leader, so it supplies the distinct play-facing support lesson that a fourth Whitebeard Leader cannot provide.

Card fields come from the imported Punk Records catalog (buhbbl/punk-records, as of 2026-08-14). Selection, order and reasoning come from whitebeard_route_editorial.json. Artwork is loaded directly from the official image source and is not rehosted.
